The scorpions are arthropods of the class of arachnids, which also owns
the mites, ticks and spiders among others. There are approximately
2,000 species worldwide and the vast majority are located in arid
regions but also some species can be found in forested areas and caves.
However, spread throughout the world, except at the poles and in
Greenland.
Almost all species are largely nocturnal and spend the day as refugees
under logs and rocks, curiously only ants can make a scorpion leave his
refuge during the day.
Fossils found lead us to believe that the scorpion already existed for
more than 400 million years and its origins come from some marine
scorpions daunting
(Euriptéridos).
It is an invertebrate animal of some 23 cm in size and power is
virtually basa and insects in general all kinds of invertebrates. To
capture their prey they expect to come, thanks to the sensory organs
called tricobotrias detect any movement or vibration environment and
that's when the shots with their claws and paralyze them with the
poison injected with the telson, which is the device located in the
rear abdominal. Once paralyzed, crushed the dam desagarran tissues
using quelíceros (appendices pairs in the form of clamp, which lie on
either side of the mouth) while casting a fluid that allows digestive
liquefy the food and then digest .
The scorpions living alone, only in the mating season or embryonic
development when they come into contact with each other. You can also
arise when you encounter devours another. They can survive harsh
conditions as physiological fasting for days or endure the fire.
It is usually the male who seeks to make the female mating, but that
happens in some species courtship is different, the male and female are
placed in front of one another, turning circle in both the male and the
female takes, moving both forward and back. This moment may last ten
minutes but at fertilization may occur at the end of days, even months.
The fertilized eggs develop within the female and to complete the
development may be needed several months, even more than a year.
